The world is changing. Some regions of the world are experiencing disasters of unthinkable magnitude. There is a mistaken view - based on superstition and fear - that people living in these places are receiving some sort of deserved punishment. In truth, all people and creatures on Earth are loved equally.
For thousands of years there have been mistaken notions involving punishment - who gets punished, who should get punished, and why. This element is so interwoven into our society that we must learn to be mindful of how it impacts our thinking and interactions with one another. The people suffering in Christ Church and elsewhere are no less deserving than the rest of us.
