With stress levels mounting and no end in sight, you may sometimes feel that you are at the edge of your limit. If you're looking for some new ways to cope, here are three tips for managing your stress.

(1) One of your best barometers of stress is your own body. Get into the habit of tuning into it throughout the day. Listen to what it is telling you. As an example, your nervous system may be on overload, causing you to be anxious or to overreact. When you can become mindful of how you feel, you have more of an opportunity to address the feelings.

(2) Notice how others around you are responding to life events. Most likely, you will discover that you're not alone in feeling stressed. You may even share some of the same stress symptoms - like headaches and sleeplessness. When you know that you're not the only one to feel stress, it can become easier to deal with things.

(3) Increased stress levels require better self-care. When you notice that you are under stress, take kindness breaks - giving yourself time for a walk, a healthy meal, or an early night. Adequate sleep, activity, and nutrition are essential to help you replenish and recharge.
